Epping Welfare Facility

490 Cooper Street, Epping

Adams collaborated with the City of Whittlesea and Architecture Matters to successfully execute the Civil Engineering detailed design for a new RSPCA Animal Welfare Facility in Epping. Our involvement encompassed efficient management of stormwater from the facility using 2 x 45,000L Rainwater Reuse Tanks, as well as implementing graded soft and hardscaping techniques to ensure optimal drainage. We closely coordinated with the Council and VicRoads to design the upgrade of the nearby public access road and intersection with Cooper Street, ensuring convenient and adequate access to the facility.

Challenges

The natural topography of the land directed water flow toward the new building site, necessitating a strategic overland flow path plan to prevent potential flooding risks

Upgrading the existing Council Road involved introducing asphalt finishing and kerbed edging to transform the rural road into a more suitable infrastructure

Scope of Works

Stormwater design
Site grading
New hardscaping and matching into existing carparking
Upgrade to Council Road adjacent to site
Intersection widening detailed design and VicRoads liaison / approval
