We were appointed by Becon Constructions as the structural and civil engineering design consultants for the Grices Road shopping centre project. The development consists of two single-level buildings housing 11 retail tenancies, including a grocer, gym, swim school, and medical centre. Completed in 2022, the structure features a braced steel roof supported by steel columns and precast panels.
Our team dedicated significant effort to ensure that the feature facades and exposed structural framing not only aligned with the architectural design vision but also facilitated efficient construction. In terms of civil engineering, we designed the stormwater system for the large at-grade car park and carefully analysed and determined optimal floor levels for the buildings to minimise the need for excessive site excavation and filling.
