Challenges
Challenges of the Little Miller Apartments project included navigating the unique requirements of combining traditional and Nightingale apartments. This entailed careful consideration of construction materials and methodologies to achieve both cost-effectiveness and the necessary sustainability elements.
Additionally, a creative solution was devised to address the stormwater connection to a shallow council system. By implementing a raised surcharge pit, the design successfully mitigated the risk of basement and building flooding during heavy rainfall events.
The project team’s ingenuity and expertise ensured the successful resolution of these challenges, resulting in a remarkable development that seamlessly blends functionality, sustainability, and resilience.
